Live Animals- 48 Hour Live Guarantee

We guarantee all of all healthy and colorful animals arrive that way and stay that way for 48 hours after arrival subject to terms and conditions listed below.

To be eligible for the 48 live hour guarantee, someone must be present to accept the shipment on the first delivery attempt. UPS or other carriers deliver as early as 9:00 am depending on your location. Please unpack and inspect the animal.

In the unlikely event the animal is dead-on-arrival (DOA) , that loss must be photographed and reported to the Coral Reef within 2 hours of delivery. DOAs should be photographed clearly without being removed from the bag.

Please unpack and acclimate livestock as soon as the shipment is received! Acclimation instructions are below.

If your livestock dies within 48 hours after delivery, deaths must be clearly photographed showing no signs of aggression or harm from tank mates or the environment.

Photos should be sent to sales@coralreeftn.com

Upon receipt, the Coral Reef will determine if your livestock is eligible for a refund. If eligible, the Coral Reef will issue a refund for the purchase price of the animal. Shipping Charges are not eligible to be refunded. In the event your order qualified for free shipping a $15 shipping fee will be deducted from your refund amount.

In the event of a DOA or 48 hour death of one fish in a Bonded Pair, two thirds credit will be issued for the pair.

Although we carefully monitor the weather throughout our shipping territory, please monitor the weather in your are to reduce the likelihood that extreme weather will cause a delay. Delays caused by extreme weather are not covered under our 48 hour guarantee nor the guarantee of our shippers.

We also have a few livestock that require "expert" levels of knowledge to care for. These livestock are marked "expert only." In these cases, we only offer a guarantee your livestock arrives alive and not the 48 hour guarantee.

Acclimation

DO NOT DRIP ACCLIMATE THE LIVESTOCK YOU RECEIVE FROM US

We find that our livestock do better with a quick "float & release" acclimation rather than a longer drip acclimation. The drip method tens to cause more stress than vs. the float and release method.

Note other suppliers may recommend drip acclimation. That process may be helpful with fish that have long transits or were originated from wholesale/distribution sites that may have less healthy and vibrant fish.

Our saltwater livestock are shipped in water with salinities between 1.022 and 1.024 ppm.
